Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Plus is a European Union program that aims to modernize and develop education systems, youth policy and sports.

It provides financial opportunities for cooperation in all these areas both between European countries and between partner countries around the world.

The program defines its goals as follows:

• develop students educationally, linguistically and culturally by studying in other European countries
• expand cooperation between institutions and enrich the educational environment of host institutions
• promote the development of young people as highly qualified future professionals with international experience.

The first students started the program in 1987. Since then, Erasmus Plus has awarded more than three million grants.

A few facts about the Erasmus Plus program for 2022-2027:

• the estimated budget of the program is more than €26 billion
• much attention is paid to the areas of social inclusion, ecology and digitalization
• some projects of the program have been going on for more than 30 years.

Erasmus Plus offers several opportunities for students.

1. International Credit Mobility - training or internship in Europe, lasting from three to 12 months.

Terms:

• monthly stipend - 800-900 euros depending on the host country, also reimbursement of travel expenses
• undergraduate, undergraduate and doctoral students can take part in the mobility
• the period of study at a foreign university must correspond to the specialty and educational program at the sending university.
• before the beginning of the mobility period, an agreement is concluded indicating the disciplines / types of educational activities that you must master.

2. Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees is an international educational program for 60, 90 or 120 ECTS credits, lasting from 12 to 24 months, jointly implemented by an international consortium of higher education institutions. A master student studies at least two universities in different countries.

Terms:

Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a joint diploma from two or more universities

• The EMJMD scholarship covers all participation costs, including tuition fees, library and laboratory expenses, insurance, travel and accommodation costs, and a monthly allowance for the entire duration of the study.
• students from all over the world can apply for admission
• must have a university degree or demonstrate an equivalent level of education in accordance with national law and practice.

Requirements and package of documents for applying for an Erasmus scholarship:

• IELTS or TOEFL certificate. Some programs accept Duolingo English Test Proficiency results
• letters of recommendation, usually two letters are required
• certificate of residence - this document guarantees that you have not lived in Europe for a year or more in the last five years and must be confirmed by a lawyer
• previous diplomas and transcripts
• motivation letter – length and wording varies depending on the program
• developing a curriculum or research project
• No experience required, no age restrictions.
